Reading lesson Tuesday, March 17, 2020

 

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

 

1)  Fundations letter sound drill warm up. 

 

Please say the sounds of the consonants, vowel digraphs, and glued sounds (glued sounds are attached below).  Take turns leading!  First, have your child say the letter keyword sound and you echo them.  Next, you say the letter keyword sound and they echo you. Let them be the teacher.

2) Cut out the sight words that were sent home Friday. Practice all the words.  Then put them in a baggie so you can practice each day.

 

 

 

3) Pick one book and read it.  Before reading review the following:

 

Remind students that all good readers think to themselves…..

 

 

Does it soundright?  Does it look right?  Does it make sense?

 

 Does it sound right?  look right? make sense?

 Also remind students that Readers use more than one strategy to solve hard words!

Please pick 2 questions to answer orally (out loud) and 1 question to write the answer to.

 

There are fiction (made-up) and non-fiction (real) books to choose from in your baggies.
